Honored to be among Newsday’s Top 100 Long Island boys lacrosse players for 2022.

Just twenty-five boys including me and fellow MacArthur General Joey Forcelli were selected to play on the Nassau County Regional team. In addition to playing against rival Suffolk County here on Long Island, we’ll also have the opportunity to represent Nassau in the New York State Regional Championship.

This week, I found out that I was recognized for Best Performance 2023 at the 2021 Run With the Best Showcase in Tinton Falls, NJ. This was a big honor as there was a lot of great talent out there. I am super lucky to have coaches and teammates that always support me. Here’s what the showcase reporters wrote:
Michael Cassano, defense, MacArthur (N.Y.) / Team 91 LI Warriors (Highlights)
Cassano had a lights-out performance, playing both close and LSM, and showing significantly more offensive pop than he usually does. He had three or four goals throughout the day as he danced through defense and snapped shots home. The lefty has decent size and good athleticism, and he was patient and smart on defense and did a good job of staying between his man and the net.

Five of my classmates and I participated in a regional conference on developing a solution to the nation’s gun violence problem.

Team 91 Warriors travelled to New Jersey this past weekend for the September Shootout to play against teams we would normally come up against at home on Long Island. I guess this is how things work in a pandemic. It was a great outing though with three decisive wins.

Since the start of the Corona Virus pandemic I’ve spent more then 200 hours working out at the wall.

It was nice to get back to playing lacrosse this past week at the Summer Showdown in Connecticut with Team 91 Warriors.
Our record for the day was 2-1.

Excited to get back to lectoring this month at my local church, St. James in Seaford, NY. It was nice to see familiar faces, but I was a little surprised when the I found out the 10 A.M. Mass was also be broadcast live over Facebook.
